The Challenge calls for participants to ride their bikes over the duration of the Tour and submit their ride data on MapMyRide.com. MapMyRide then computes each participant’s “Virtual Stage Time” — the actual time he or she would have posted racing alongside the pros on a given stage. The jersey winners are announced during NBC Sport’s daily primetime recap of the Tour, and NBC Sports promotes the event during its daily live broadcast of the race.
