MapMyFitness Featured as Premier Partner App on Samsung Gear 2

Highlighted on the stage of a Mobile World Congress keynote address, MapMyFitness is excited to announce a premier partnership with the launch of the Samsung Gear 2. As part of the launch MapMyRun will also be featured in the Samsung app gallery for the Gear 2. This announcement comes ahead of the commercial launch of the Gear 2 available for purchase in April 2014.

Now view and control real time fitness stats on your wrist during a workout – including time, pace, distance, calories burned, and heart rate data, all via Bluetooth Smart technology. With the Samsung Gear 2, MapMyFitness members can now start and stop workouts directly from the wrist – creating a more seamless, accurate workout experience. Users can also toggle and choose which stats matter the most through three separate custom panel views.

A new feature, exclusive to the Gear 2 app, is an animated progress bar, illuminating in the background. As the workout advances a light gray bar sweeps across the background, showing progress and providing real-time data every step of the way.
