AUSTIN, TX. – January 29, 2013 – MapMyFitness, the health and fitness technology company powering the Internet’s largest community of fitness enthusiasts, today unveiled a slew of new features that raises the bar for all web and mobile fitness applications. Offered via a premium subscription model, the updated app gives users comprehensive tools including Route Recommender, Custom Splits, and Advanced Heart Rate and Power Analytics. All new features are available both online and through all of the mobile applications (MapMyRun, MapMyRide, MapMyFitness, and MapMyWalk).

“Our MVP offering is a game changer,” said Robin Thurston, CEO, MapMyFitness. “Never before have users been able to access this level of data to monitor their health and fitness. Our ultimate goal is to help everyone lead healthier and fit lives and we believe these new features, via our subscription package, will help our users achieve goals in a more fun and engaging way.”

The MVP offering is a comprehensive web and mobile subscription package that will change the way people everywhere work out. MVP offers new tools to help track, monitor and share your fitness progress including Route Recommender – an easy way to create quick maps by area and distance to then save, print or share. Custom Splits, Advanced Heart Rate Analytics and Power Analysis bring a new level of tracking and awareness to MVP users. The complete MVP experience will also feature current favorites such as Live Tracking, Training Plans, Interval Training, Advanced Leaderboard Filters and more.

The standard functionality of all MapMyFitness products including mapping, logging and sharing workouts will remain the same across all brands, and free to all of the company’s 13M+ users. All current premium members will be grandfathered into the new MVP offering, with price plans changing dependent on current subscription levels upon expiration.

“MVP is the most competitive premium offering in the marketplace today,” said Thurston. “With one price point, we hope to engage more users and make these advanced training tools more accessible, creating a completely seamless experience on both web and mobile platforms.”

With the launch of MVP, MapMyFitness will offer device + data bundles, including a free annual MVP subscription with purchase of a heart rate monitor, or CycleOps Joule GPS, with additional products to be introduced in the first half of the year. The MVP bundled offering is only offered to users on the iOS platform, but will soon be available to the Android market.
